EuropeEdges conference “Youth Voice”

Europe Edges project financed by the European Commission through the Erasmus+ program, was finalized with an international youth conference called “Youth Voice”.
The conference was organized in Bucharest, Romania, at the Marshal Garden Hotel, and it gathered 103 participants – teachers, students, socio-educational field practitioners, therapists, representatives of public authorities. Out of the total number of participants 55 were high school and university students.
Representatives from each partner organization, accompanied by young volunteers from their organizations, also participated in the final event. During the conference, the project’s results were briefly presented, and thematic art therapy workshops were organized as a method of support and self-support for young people.
The conference began with a dialogue about young people’s mental health, civic engagement, and the connection between the two. This dialogue was moderated by two young volunteers from the IKAROS Foundation for Active Youth and it had as invited experts an art professor, a representative of the Student Association of the Faculty of Philosophy, a public policy expert, a psychotherapist, and a psychiatrist. Additionally, the entire event was translated into sign language, as some of the participants were students with hearing impairments.
